Hi, I’m Janet.
With over 20 years of experience in psychological therapy and mental health services, I am passionate about supporting people in achieving their personal goals and creating the future they deserve, and I love helping people to transform and grow.
I have always been interested in holistic health, having trained in massage, aromatherapy, reiki, NLP and IET, but remained in mainstream health for most of my career. However, a difficult personal situation brought me back to hypnotherapy, and I used the science-backed nature of modern hypnotherapy and solution focussed work to help me move forwards. I haven’t looked back!
I’m a qualified clinical hypnotherapist, solution focussed hypnotherapist and psychotherapist and am happy to blend different approaches to create a tailor-made package for you – I am also a Past Life Regression therapist, Parts therapist, IET practitioner, aromatherapist and Reiki practitioner. With a background in psychological therapy, I have trained in different therapies, including Schema Therapy and DBT and can therefore help you to develop coping strategies and unpick unhelpful beliefs and thought patterns. I am fully insured and have an enhanced DBS, ensuring that your safety and well-being are my top priorities. My practice is based in Morley, Leeds, but I also offer online hypnotherapy to those unable to travel to me.

My Personal Story
How did I get into hypnotherapy? Well, like most people, I’ve had my fair share of knocks and loss, but I had a run of 8 years or so that were particularly hard, and culminated in me being unable to do the job I loved due to a physical injury. Even though I had worked in mental health and therapy services for 20 years, I was shocked and ashamed to find that I couldn’t cope with the emotional and physical pain I was in. But we can’t be objective about ourselves, yet objectivity is what we need to move forward.
I know what it’s like to struggle, to find it difficult to get to sleep or wake up at stupid o’clock due to constant worry, to try and drag myself out of bed and not want to face another day. I genuinely worried I would lose everything, including my relationship, and I spent most of my time imagining the worst possible outcomes. So I know how painful it can be when you’re anxious, low and struggling with your demons.
But I also know what it’s like to be on the other side of it, to have a zest for life, to feel truly happy and feel energised thanks to solution focussed hypnotherapy. I go to bed thinking about all the good things that have happened in the day, and every morning I look forward to the day ahead. And the best thing is that I feel I have found my place – supporting others in transforming their lives just like I did. I want to share this joy and happiness and support you in creating a life you love.

Change happens surprisingly quickly when combining these two modalities, as tapping into a person’s subconscious helps to avoid cognitive dissonance, meaning that the subconscious mind is working alongside the conscious mind so we can avoid situations when we logically know what we need to do but simply cannot seem to do it.
